PATIK FESTIVAL
PATIK FESTIVAL
Patik Festival is a vibrant local celebration held in the municipality of San Isidro, Isabela, in honor of its people’s primary livelihood—duck and itik (native duck) farming. The name “Patik” itself is a creative blend of the words pato and itik, reflecting the community’s strong ties to duck raising, which has long sustained the local economy and shaped its cultural identity.
San Isidro is widely known for producing red eggs, a popular delicacy made from salted duck eggs, which has become one of the town’s signature products. During the festival, the town comes alive with colorful activities, cultural showcases, and the much-anticipated “Makan ken Mainum” (Food and Drink) contest. In this unique competition, participants are challenged to prepare dishes with duck or itik as the main ingredient, paired with beverages creatively infused with red egg.
More than just a celebration, the Patik Festival is a proud display of San Isidro’s agricultural roots, culinary creativity, and communal spirit. It strengthens the town’s identity while honoring the traditions that continue to bring people together.
