The value of our camps is largely driven by the quality and availability of Galway Lake. The biggest impact to the water quality of the lake are the septic systems of the camps located around the lake. The following videos provide valuable information on septic systems and provide recommendations for using and maintaining the system which will keep the lake clean. Recommendation for frequency of pumping a septic system is every 3 to 5 years.

The GLCA provides reimbursement for septic system pumping up to 1000 gallons. Odorless Sanitary Cleaners Inc has an agreement with GLCA to pump 1000 gallons for a specific cost. The procedure is to contact Oderless to have them pump your tank then send the receipt/invoice of payment to:

Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program (CSLAP) is a volunteer lake monitoring program directed by DEC staff in collaboration with NYS Federation of Lake Associations.
