As part of the RTU command reshuffle, the need for a more effective RTO monitoring and training system was identified. Command developed these new policies and procedures to address this.
Training sessions have been implemented for skill development as well as officer correction. These sessions are headed by either an RTU command member or a training supervisor. They are designed to teach and assess new and existing skills that are essential for an RTO to perform their duties effectively.
There are two types of training sessions.
Optional - You don’t have to attend, but it would benefit you to attend.
Mandatory - You must attend. These are often used as a corrective measure, or you have been identified as someone who needs to develop certain skills.
Operations are a new initiative designed to develop key skills in RTOs by doing fun in-game operations, headed up by a supervisor who can provide an observation report at the end. These sessions are open to all officers, including patrol, as a way to help them develop skills they would need to apply for RTU. These sessions are currently in place. Officers are notified via plpd.online of the time and date that the operation would be taking place, as well as what it would be. The current list of approved operations is.
