Stage 1 in becoming a Road Traffic Officer is a multiple-choice assessment to test your basic understanding of RTU proceedings and PLPD policy.
Stage 2 in becoming a Road Traffic Officer is a Written Application based on your understanding and knowledge of the Road Traffic Unit. These applications are marked by a trainer. You can find additional information to help you with your application on plpd.online/resources.
Stage 3
Stage 3 for Traffic Officer is a Command Review, this means you as an applicant have nothing to do for this. The RTU Command team will review your progress and previous record within the Police Department before making a decision on your application.
Stage 4
Stage 4 is a Practical Stage that is hosted on the live server. This will be conducted with a member/s of the Traffic Command and Traffic Trainers. Traffic Command will contact you with a suitable date on which your Stage 4 will be done. Prior to attending this stage, we recommend you watch the RTU Training video. Your Stage 4 will consist of several Practical Assessments that assess your ability as an Officer. After you finish Stage 4 you will be given your feedback by your Assessor, this is done in the official Perpheads Teamspeak server (IP: ts.perpheads.com).

Stage 5
Stage 5 is a final command review much like stage 3. It will most likely be more in-depth to ensure there are no discrepancies. If you pass this stage, you will become a member of the Road Traffic Unit.
Reinstatements to the division should be sent in by a plpd.online Helpdesk ticket so that it can be reviewed by the Command Team. All reinstatements must follow the recruitment policy in the division. This policy states that anyone being reinstated should go through a reinstatement stage 4 process unless overruled by the Head of Traffic and the Head of Operations Services. Traffic Command also reserves the right to deny anyone's reinstatement, although they may meet the minimum requirements.
