VALE IAN PETERS
Club members were very sad to hear that our friend and former club president Ian Peters passed away 2nd March 2022.
We were in awe of Peter’s engineering background: he was particularly knowledgeable about motor car engineering. A visit to his workshop was a eye popping event: there were full-sized Formula one racing cars in various stages of construction.
Mixed up with these monsters of the race track were model aircraft made of depron and balsa. Ian had a encyclopedic knowledge of all things to do with motor cars, helicopters, and single engine light aircraft. One of his favourite reminiscences was about flying in a British Auster aircraft, owned by his company.
We will miss Ian and his wonderful tales.
