RPU: Trainings
The RPU induction is an introductory form of training that all new RPU officers must undergo. An experienced RPU member will guide you through all of the features of RPU, and show you how to develop into the officer that you want to be. You will be taught how to rank up in the division, how you should act, what you can be trained for, and what outfits you can wear. So that you can better understand the training, it is recommended that you read the handbook linked above.
RPU Mentors are eligible to provide Basic Pursuit Training to anyone within the MPS. An individual is unable to progress within the MPS until they’ve completed the Basic Pursuit Training, so if you intend on completing the Basic Pursuit Training, please contact these individuals.
All of the required information regarding the Basic Pursuit Training is displayed on the RPU: Basic Pursuit Training Handbook, which an individual can access by clicking the highlighted button above this text.
Tactical contact training will allow you to perform tactical contact (PIT manoeuvre) during pursuits. You can get this training done by contacting any RPU mentor. For more information, click the link above.
High-speed tactical contact training will allow you to perform tactical contact (PIT manoeuvre) at speeds over 100mph during pursuits. You can get this training done by contacting any RPU mentor. For more information, click the link above.
Bike training is something you will gain access to once you reach the rank of Junior interceptor within RPU. If you meet the requirements to join the unit and would like to do so, read the handbook above and get in touch with a member of the mentor team to do your training.
RPU uses Speed Guns to stop the speeders of the city. Information for this can be found in the RPU: Speed Gun Handbook". Marked Speed Traps are used to protect the public and increase road safety.
RPU uses Unmarked Speed Traps to catch speeders trying to slow down when near a law enforcement or marked speed trap.
