Congratulations! You have passed your final exam and have joined the Roads Policing Unit. The most important thing is to learn the handbooks and the responsibilities of the ranks within the Roads Policing Unit and also the Metropolitan Police. We also recommend that you get your basic pursuit and communication training done by someone in our excellent Mentor team. If you have any questions feel free to contact someone in command, no matter how big or small the question may be.
Your main role/ responsibility is to prove to command that you are able to prevent criminal use of the roads overall making the roads safer through patrolling and attending calls. We expect Trainee Interceptors to take lead on pursuits (where possible) giving communications whilst maintaining the high standards the command team expect from you. This is the first step in progressing throughout the ranks within the Roads Policing Unit.
The perks of becoming a Trainee Interceptor are:
You can become tactical contact trained.
You get a new uniform.
You get to become a part of the best division.
A Trainee Interceptor has a few ranks to climb before reaching the rank of Senior Interceptor. This is not all bad news as only those who are worthy can progress up the ladder. Try it, if you will. The next rank-up is Junior interceptor. To receive a promotion, You must have completed your RPU induction and your basic pursuit training with 5 hours in the division. Your minimum hours per week are 5 hours.
