Lytha

Lytha is a fractured desert nation. It has a few cities, which consistute most of the population and represent one half of the country, and a number of nomadic tribal communities which are ruled by their own leaders and warlords. It has a troubled history filled with uncharacteristically cruel torture and slavery.

Askir, the de-facto leader of Lytha, focuses solely on improving the cities in her country. The Lethan who wander outside of civilisation are lost causes who wouldn't listen to the concept of political unification even if they were on the brink of death. So, where she can, Askir encourages the education and development of job industries. The Lethan are technically skilled, and can produce valuable technologies and weapons for export. There is also a neverending supply of rock and minerals available.
