Stat Overview:
Strength: Physical strength as we know it. A person with high strength can lift heavy objects and is generally better with direct-hitting weapons.
Physical Defence: A mixture of defence and constitution. Determines health and stamina, as well as the ability to withstand physical blows.
Magical Defence: A person with high magical defence naturally reduces the effect of incoming (offensive) magic. Also affects magical stamina - how many spells someone can cast before becoming fatigued.
Dexterity: A mixture of speed and evasion. High dexterity would allow a person to move faster and dodge physical attacks.
Magic: Strength of magic, both offensive and defensive. Increases the effects that spells have on a target.
Luck: Factor of luck-based skills and critical hits. Helps with everyday luck too.
Each class’ stats add up to 30, which represent the stat growth per level.
Example stats: lv. 5 Warrior (natural class Merchant, lv. 2)
S: 45 + 8 (= 53)
PD: 35 + 12 (= 47)
MD: 15 + 12 (= 27)
D: 20 + 12 (= 31)
M: 10 + 8 (= 18)
L: 25 + 8 (= 33)
This Warrior jumped classes early on, and while not being as strong as a Warrior since birth, is not exactly hindered by their Merchant beginnings.
This example highlights how changing classes and balancing their levels can be beneficial. If you're a class with a pathetic magic defence stat, picking up a subclass that boosts MD at a higher rate per level can really improve your chances in a fight. These small specialisations are what set people apart; a pure Warrior will be completely different to one with a Merchant background.
VERY IMPORTANT: These stats are independent of clothing/armor. Certain armor will boost certain stats, but honestly there’s nothing but societal values stopping people from running around naked. This effectively allows me to draw all the boob armor I want. Please don't bring the 'but it'll cause more harm than good' argument into it.
