Join us for our Fall Join Scout Night on Tuesday, September 17 at 7 pm @ Round Rock West Park!
Dues
The following is a breakdown of initial and annual costs. Please note these costs are subject to change annually.
Membership Renewals
In the past, each scout would recharter in January for the calendar year, regardless of when they joined. This led to many new scouts joining in September (paying for September - December) and then turning around and paying again to "recharter" in January. As of August 1, 2023, all new youth and Adult Members who joined Scouting will be enrolled in a 12-month membership cycle and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) will cease prorating fees. Both youth and adults will pay the full annual membership fee and will renew their membership on the anniversary date of joining scouting. All pro-rated membership fees have been eliminated. Each registered member of the BSA will receive an email notice with a registration renewal link beginning 60 days before the anniversary month they joined scouting. Unit leaders will also receive a copy of the email.
Two-Deep Leadership Policy
For the safety and protection of both scouts and adults, there will be at least two Adult Members during all den meetings, pack meetings, trips, activities, and events. Two Adult Members always arrive early to meetings and departures for trips, activities, or events to unlock the facility and/or greet families. Two Adult Members always remain until the last scout is picked up.
In addition, appropriate scout/adult ratios are always maintained when scouts and adults are present together at a den/pack activity, meeting, or event whether in person or virtual.
Sickness
If your child is showing symptoms of illness, if they have a fever or diarrhea, please keep them home.
Health & Safety Supplies
At all in-person meetings, the pack will have a first aid kit on hand with over-the counter medications (oral/topical) and band-aids as well as hand sanitizer, gloves, and disinfectants.
Communication
Pack Communication
Our pack will primarily communicate to families using Scoutbook emails and The Band notifications.
Scoutbook
Emails will be sent via Scoutbook to the family email used when registering at the beginning of the program year.
Each family has access to Scoutbook and will be sent an invitation to create an account during registration.
Families will use Scoutbook to check on their child’s progress.
The Band
Can be accessed by your computer or by an app, which can be downloaded to your smartphone.
You will receive an email inviting you to join the Band when you first register.
The Band is not intended for use by Cub Scouts but is for communication between pack leadership and parents/adults.
Communication with Cub Scouts
One-on-one contact between adult leaders and youth members is prohibited both inside and outside of Scouting. Text messages, emails, and phone calls should always include two-deep leadership for the safety and protection of both minors and Adult Members.
