Pack 345
Pack
The pack is made up of several dens. The makeup and size of the pack varies based on local interest and resources. Each pack is identified by a number. Our number is 345.
Dens
A small group of Cub Scouts who are the same grade. The ideal size is 6 to 8 Cub Scouts.
Den Leaders
An adult, usually a parent, serves as a den leader. They carry out the activities related to adventures as they are presented in the Cub Scout’s handbook and the Den Leader Guide.
Cubmaster
The leader of the pack meeting is the Cubmaster. In addition to serving as the master of ceremonies the Cubmaster provides support to den leaders.
Pack Committee
Made up of parents, leaders, and other caring adults the pack committee works to support den leaders and the Cubmaster.
Pack Committee Chair
Conducts monthly committee meetings to help plan programs. Ensures that committee members give adequate support for running the program to support the Cubmaster and den leaders. Helps recruit additional leaders as needed.
Chartered Organization
This is the organization that partners with the Boy Scouts of America to deliver a scouting program. They adopt scouting to serve the youth in the community.
Chartered Organization Representative
This person appoints the pack Committee Chair and approves all adult leaders. They provide resources from the chartered organization.
Dens
Lion & Tiger Dens
The Lion Den (Kindergarten) and the Tiger Den (First Grade) Cub Scouts join with an adult partner, usually the parent or guardian. An adult, usually one of the parents, is selected as the den leader. The den leader plans and coordinates the activities for each den meeting. Other adults help in the den as assistant den leaders, activity leaders, and chaperones. Each Lion & Tiger will work from an interactive handbook which serves as a fun-filled activity guide where scouts can explore and enjoy the six required and twenty elective Adventures.
Wolf, Bear & Webelos Dens
Children this age are becoming more independent, and activities are designed to meet their developmental needs. A Wolf (second grade), Bear (third grade), or Webelos (fourth grade) den consists of scouts, a den leader, an assistant den leader, and sometimes a den chief (an older scout who helps the den leader).
Arrow of Light (AOL)
The Arrow of Light den (fifth grade) is focused on preparing to join Scouts BSA. Arrow of Light scouts move to the next level of scouting, Scouts BSA
