Membership Services

The Rotary Club of Audley is actively looking for new members.

Our club is made-up of people of all ages and backgrounds and our approach to Rotary is relaxed, with the emphasis on enjoyment. As well as working to help the local, national and international community, we have a very active social life.

Whilst we encourage members to become as active as possible in our charity work, there is no pressure put on people and everyone is free to give as much of their time as they feel able. Having said that, the old adage that 'the more you put in, the more you get out' is very true!

Normally, we meet each Wednesday at the 'Boughey Arms' in Audley. The normal format is a three course meal, followed by a speaker. Our speakers are varied and may talk about their vocation, hobbies, experiences, aspirations or simply update us on projects. Currently, meetings are held via the Zoom videoconferencing application.

Whilst we encourage members to attend as many meetings and events as possible, the club is flexible and personal circumstances and commitments are catered for as much as possible.

So, what do members get from Rotary? Here are a few quotes from Rotarians around the UK:

'Rotary is the ultimate win win situation. By giving my time, energy and skills I can genuinely make a difference and I get the personal fulfilment that comes from putting something back'.

'Rotary is some of the best fun that you can have with your clothes on'.

'Join Rotary and you are part of a worldwide network of enthusiastic volunteers identifying needs, whether at home or abroad, and finding ways to resolve them through cooperative efforts. You will make many new friends and laugh a lot too'.

If you want to know more about Rotary, why not download our leaflets at the foot of this page. Alternatively, contact us by email or via our Facebook and Twitter accounts

If you decide that you are interested, we will invite you to come along to a few meetings and/or events and you can decide for yourself if Rotary is right for you. No commitment.

An Evening with Nigel Johnson

On 12th December 2010, we held an enjoyable evening at the 'Broughton Arms' when Nigel Johnson from BBC Radio Stoke was our speaker. The guest of honour was ex-Stoke City and England goalkeeper Gordon Banks.

Nigel talked very fluently and entertainingly about his life as a sports broadcaster and in particular commentating on Stoke City matches.

It was a truly unforgettable night and we raised £700 towards the President's charity for the year - the Donna Louise Trust.
