Fire in unreal engine
Here is the fire i creatred in Unreal engine. This exercise was do ne to help me improve my skills with blueprints in unreal.
Here are the blueprints and settings and blueprints i used to create the fire.
Z-brush
To start i made a cube in maya with some edge loops.
I then imported the cube from maya into Zbrush and divided it to get 800,000 points. I did this so when i started sculping there was enough points for me to scuplt with.
We where then tasked to make a brick texture within zbrush. Some of the techniques I used where the standard brush to create brick lines and then I used the pattern brush to create the stone effect. I also used a reference image to help me get the shape of the bricks. I used the see through function to see the reference image at the same time.
The aim of this was to practice with the curve alpha brushes. These brushes let you draw lines that changed into geometry these brushes can be used to create hair for models.
here we where tasked with making cloth texture in zbrush. for this i used an ear brush (weirdly enough) and smoothed it out and ended with a silky looking material that could of been sown together. This is another exercise that helped me grow confidence and skills in the software zbrush. By learning the hotkeys and what different brushes do.
Key and door puzzle
Here are the blueprints I used to create a key and door system in unreal.
For this I had to create new variables for the key and is in range of the door.
The idea behind these blueprints is to create two objects one being a key and one a door. that lets you open it once you interact with the door after you picked upon the key.
Here is my door and key the yellow block being the key and the player has to pick the key up and use the key E to open the door.
Inspect item
here is the blue prints i used to create the inspect within unreal. This consists of picking up and object with the ability to turn it around and inspect it. As wells the ability to drop the item after picking it up.
Above are a few screenshots showcasing these blueprints working in game. These show picking up the object and looking at. the last image on the right is after i have dropped the cube.
