To create these i had to place the texture to make sure the seem wasn't visible and i appeared to wrap all the way around.

To create these i used techniques like gridify to allow me to texture in photoshop more effectively.

Here is the barrel with the textures along with the UVS that i produced for it. The reason behind doing this was to improve our skills at texturing in photoshop and becoming more efficient in the software and improving skills at creating UVS in maya. The goal of this barrel was to tell a story through its design. My idea was to make it look like it was burnt and damaged in a fire possibly by a dragon depending on what setting this barrel was put in. Overall i think the textures and UVs for this model where successful and efficient in allowing me to apply textures in photoshop. Also successful n telling a story through its design this can allow a game to be of higher quality and remove having to tell the player what has occurred in the place they are in the can figure it out on their own. This is an aspect of games that people really like as it feel personal as if they put the clues together to create there own ideas of what happened in the game the yare playing.
