What's in Clyde's Page?
SikloBuhay
This advocacy promotes a holistic approach to student representation that goes beyond academic concerns alone. It envisions a 3rd year Psychology community that is well-informed, actively connected, academically engaged, and psychologically supported throughout the academic year. Grounded on the principles of transparency, collaboration, and well-being, this advocacy ensures that student needs are addressed in a balanced and sustainable manner, recognizing that academic performance is closely linked with communication systems, peer engagement, and mental health.
Rather than focusing on isolated concerns, this advocacy integrates multiple dimensions of student life to create a more responsive and student-centered environment where information flows clearly, opportunities for growth are accessible, and student well-being is consistently prioritized.
Areas of Interest
1. Student Connection and Engagement
Strengthening how the organization listens to, communicates with, and involves students to ensure they feel heard, represented, and actively part of the Institute of Psychology Community.
2. Organizational Development and Systems
Improving internal structure, coordination, and communication to create a more efficient, organized, and sustainable Psychology Society.
3. Student Support Systems
Developong initiatives and frameworks that guide and support students, especially during academic and organizational transitions, to help them adjust and thrive.
4. Opportunities and Professional Growth
Expanding access to academic, organizational, and external opportunities that allow psychology students to grow beyond the classroom and seminars
PathPrep
PathPrep is a structured seminar series designed to prepare 3rd year psychology students for their On-the-Job Training (OJT) in 4th year by providing practical guidance and early exposure to different practicum settings. This initiative will feature invited speakers with experience in both clinical and human resource OJT to give students a clearer understanding of the expectations, roles, and realities in each field.
MindSpeak
This platform aims to strengthen communication between the IoPsy student council, Umak Psychology Society, and the 3rd year students by ensuring that all announcements, updates, and important information are delivered clearly, consistently, and on time. It includes creating a more organized and reliable system for sharing information, as well as maintaining open channels where students can easily raise concerns or ask questions. The goal is to eliminate confusion, reduce misinformation, and make sure that no student is left behind due to lack of communication.
3R’s: Recharge, Rest, Reset
The 3R’s initiative is a workshop and seminar series focused on addressing student burnout and academic fatigue, particularly during high-demand periods such as research deadlines and major academic requirements. This initiative will involve organizing seminars and workshops featuring discussions on stress management, coping strategies, time management, and maintaining academic balance. Sessions may include guided activities, practical demonstrations, and sharing of evidence-based techniques that students can apply in their daily routines. Additionally, selected sessions may incorporate peer-sharing segments, allowing students to contribute their own effective strategies and experiences. By providing structured and informative workshops at strategic points in the semester, this initiative aims to equip students with practical tools to manage academic pressure while promoting overall well-being.
