Structural Reliability and Shared Progress
An organization can only be strong if the system supports it. This advocacy focuses on Structural Reliability, which means a commitment to clean records, clear workflows, and verifiable accountability.
True Shared Progress can only be built on a strong foundation that makes our growth not a top-down decision, but the result of everyone’s collective input. As a candidate for Treasurer, I plan on implementing a 3-layer system involving a Record, Show, Ask Framework that attempts to close the gap between uncertainty and progress.
Areas of Interests
Internal Controls - Record. All transactions are logged, checked, and structured, so every peso has a paper trail. The standardization of the workflow makes accountability a habit, giving the organization control and predictability.
Strategic Financial Communication – Show. To simplify complicated budgets into simple, visual, and digestible information for students to comprehend. It’s an official platform for postings, budgets, and allocations for students, in an accessible format. It helps students “see themselves” in the process, making them active stakeholders (informed, not passive).
Reciprocal Accountability and Impact Assessment - Ask. Let money speak and listen. This enables the student body to evaluate their effectiveness when funds are spent and published. It is about creating a feedback loop that will make our financial activity not only efficient, but truly aligned with the real needs of the Institute.
Blueprint Base: Fiscal Accountability
An anchor for control and predictability. A solid foundation. Where all transactions are recorded, checked, and organized.
Beneath a stable platform should have a foundation that is structured and reliable, where every financial transaction is well documented with the use of clean records and standardized workflows. By providing a clear and traceable paper trail, we can avoid ambiguity and uncertainty.
The Mirror Ledger: Institutional Transparency
Information should be reachable because transparency is effective when it is accessible. The Mirror Ledger is the public representation of our finances, connecting the Treasurer’s office and the student body. All budget allocations and semestral plans are put up digitally and on public bulletin boards, so students are fully aware of them.
This aims to empower students to see themselves in the process through a system of accessible and concrete records. This changes the Institute’s dynamic, turning students from passive observers to informed stakeholders with the power to understand exactly how their resources are being allocated.
The Feedback Bridge: Streamlined Feedback Channels
Money should speak, but it should also listen. Once funds are recorded (Blueprint) and disclosed (Mirror), the Feedback Bridge offers a conduit for students to evaluate the effectiveness of that spending. This creates a ‘Pulse’ for the Institute to gauge the collective sentiment on whether an event or project was a worthy investment of student resources.
It aims to break out of the traditional top-down spending. Aligning our financial strategies to perceptions and experiences in the real world ensures that actions taken going forward will not only be financially sound but also responsive and student-centered.
