On the left is a patch my father wore when he was a young man. I recently came across it. . He and some friends formed a club called "Ropaneje." They went hiking, camping, and boating, hence the tree on the R. It stood for the first two letters of Rochelle Park New Jersey where he lived. In the 1930s he wore it on his sweater. In the picture on the right he has it on his sweater.
