Outreach

Each trimester our team visits with our two feeder Middle Schools, to talk to students about our team.  Team members give a presentation, demonstrate our robot, and answer questions. This is our primary way of bring new students to our team each year. 

For the past several years our team has sponsored a robotics summer camp for incoming 7-9th graders.  In this weeklong camp team members teach younger students the basic skills used on a robotics team. This includes teamwork, strategy, CAD, coding, building, and testing. Many of the students who participate in our summer camp eventually join our team!

One of FIRST core values is becoming involved in the surrounding community and our team is always looking for opportunities to help and improve the lives of others. 

Each year the team participates in the community parade and other events related to Homecoming.  The team has worked with local organizations to find ways we can help our community and identify potential sponsors.   This includes presenting to the Geneva City Council about our team.
