September 14, 2026 - Geneva Principal Tom Rogers, recognized the Robovikes at the school board meeting for their win at the Illinois State Championship over the summer.  Superintendent, Andrew Barrett and the Board of Education presented team members with certificates of recognition for their success this year.

September 3, 2026 - The Robovikes participated in the annual Geneva High School Activities Fair where clubs try to recruit new members.  The team talked with other students about the team and signed them up for an initial meeting to learn more about the team and how to join.

August 16, 2026 - Some members of the Robovikes joined Fox Valley Robotics members for several hours to build game pieces for this year's FIRST Lego League Bioglow game.  They had over 60 complete kits to build and the participants built about 30 of those kits.  

June 23, 2026 - The Robovikes represented FIRST Illinois and demonstrated their robot at 2026 Automate, North America's largest robotics and automation event. They answered questions of participants and help to generate interest in FIRST with hopes of generating new sponsors for the FIRST program.

June 13, 2026 - The Robovikes competed with 21 other teams from around the state of Illinois for the very first Illinois State Championship.  Although the team did not do as well as hoped in the qualification rounds, the team became part of Alliance 3  with teams 111 Wildstang and 4655 Stateline Robotics.   The Robovikes provided the defensive support for the alliance throughout they playoff with only one loss to the #1 Alliance moving them down to the lower bracket, but manage advance to the the finals and beat the #1 alliance in 3 matches to win the Illinois State Championship.

May 11, 2026 - The Robovikes receive Viking Leaders Awards from Geneva High School at the Geneva 304 Board of Education Meeting for their efforts this year including their success in this year's competitions and their volunteer work.  The team volunteered at FIRST demonstation at this year's Rockwell Automation Fair, Geneva High School's 150 Anniversary Dinner, and the upcoming FIRST booth at the Automation Fair at McCormick Place.

May 8, 2026 - The Robovikes made their annual spring visit to the Geneva Middle Schools.  The team met with both Geneva Middle School North and Geneva Middle School South coding classes to promote the team to the students who will be coming to Geneva High School next year.  The team answered questions and demonstrated their 2026 competition Robot.

April 25, 2026 - The Robovikes demonstrated their 2026 competition robot to community members who participated in the Geneva High School 150th Anniversary celebration.  The team answered questions for participants and took in donations for the team.

April 11, 2026 - The team was originally scheduled to participate in the Kansas City Regional, but the team had to change their registration to attend the Illinois Central Illinois Regional due to transportation difficulties.  In spite of the change, our lead mentor, Ken Wilson, was awarded the Woodie Flowers FInalist Award at the 2026 Kansas City Regional.  This award is determined prior to competitions taking place.  Mr. Wilson joined the team in 2017 when his son joined the team his freshmen year.  After his son graduated he has continued to lead the team. Through his leadership the team has grown and become a respected team in the FIRST community.

March 28, 2026 - The Robovikes competed with 34 other teams at the 2026 Midwest Regional at Forest View Education Center in Arlington Heights, IL.  The team finished 2-8-0 and placed 29th in the Qualification matches.  The Robovikes were picked to be apart of Alliance 6.  The alliance lost their first match and moved to the lower bracket where they one their first match but were defeated in their second match of the lower bracket.  Although the team did not earn enough poins in the FRC Regional rankings to advance to the World Championships, the team was very proud of their season.

March 21, 2026 - The Robovikes competed with 30 other teams at the 2026 Central Illinois Regional at Bradley University in Peoria, IL.  The team finished 7-5-0 and placed 8th in the Qualification matches and became the captains of Alliance 5.  The team lost in their first match advancing to the lower bracket where the team lost in their first match in that bracket.

February 14, 2026 - The Robovikes ran a concession stand at the 2026 Illinois FLL State Championship as a team fundraiser.  During the competition the team answered questions about the FIRST Robotic Competition and demonstrated their 2025 competition robot as well as previewed their 2026 competition robot

November 18, 2025 - The Robovikes demonstrated their robot at the 2025 Rockwell Automation Fair as a representative of Illinois FIRST.  During the fair the team gave demonstrations of the 2025 FRC game and answered questions from fair attendees. 

November 12, 2025 - The Robovikes got together with 3061 Huskie Robotics and 2704 Roaring Robotics to share information and help build relationships between mentors and students.

September 26, 2025 - The Robovikes participated in the 2025 Geneva High School Homecoming parade.  This year the team decorated a float in the theme of Rio.  The team had a great time throwing out candy to onlookers.
