June 13, 2026 - The Robovikes competed with 21 other teams from around the state of Illinois for the very first Illinois State Championship.  Although the team did not do as well as hoped in the qualification rounds, the team became part of Alliance 3  with teams 111 Wildstang and  4655 Stateline Robotics.   The Robovikes provided the defensive support for the alliance throughout they playoff with only one loss to the #1 Alliance moving them down to the lower bracket, but manage advance to the the finals and beat the #1 alliance in 3 matches to win the Illinois State Championship. 

May 11, 2026 - At the Geneva 304 District School Board meeting, Principal Tom Rogers presented the Viking Leaders Award to the GHS Robotics Team (RoboVikes) for their successful season, noting their perseverance, community outreach (including work with middle schoolers), and their success in international competitions. 

April 11, 2026 - Our lead mentor, Ken Wilson, was awarded the Woodie Flowers FInalist Award at the 2026 Kansas City Regional.
