what we need

It takes a lot of money and materials each year to operate our team. Some of these items are one-time expenses, expenses that occur every few years, and others are annual costs. Some of these physical items and other are services. We are always looking to individuals or organizations to provide the items we need either by giving financial support or donations of goods and services. Below is a list of our current needs. If you are interested in providing for any of our needs please contact us at robovikes3067@gmail.com. We ask that you speak with one of our team mentors prior to purchasing any goods or services or sending money to Geneva High School to ensure the proper processes are followed with the school and verify that we still have a specific need.

One-time needs

team trailer

Our team has many of the primary pieces of equipment that we need to operate, but we are currently in need of a new trailer to make travel to our competitions simpler and safer. Our current trailer is barely large enough to transport our equipment for competitions and is pushing it's weight limit. We are looking for a slightly larger new or slightly-used trailer. Here are the specifications for what we are looking for:

6' or 7' wide
12' to 14' long
6' high opening
Folding ramp on the back for loading purposes
Side door
Dual axle
4000 or more lbs gross weight
electric brakes (preferred but optional)

Obtaining a new trailers will incur an additional cost for us to paint or wrap the new tralier with our team information.

We have some needs that occur every few years or so due to changes in technology or wear and tear. Some of these needs include:

3D printers
Power tools & batteries
Motors and other motion parts
Electronic components

annual needs

Many of the items we need are consumables that we use every year running our team and building our robot

Robot Parts

Each year we need a variety of parts to build our robot which cannot be reused or become worn to a point were we cannot use them any longer. See our current needs at Wishlist.com

Uniforms

Each year we have to purchase new team uniforms for our new team members as well as our team t-shirt that displays all of our sponsors' logos which we where to competitions and other formal events.

Team Meals

Food is always a good motivator for teenagers. During our official season from January through April, our team works late during the week and on weekends and we like to feed our students.

Constuction Materials

Each year we use a variety of construction materials such as plywood, dimensional lumber, and fasteners to build game field components so we can test our robot. We are able to reuse some materials but not all.

Sponsor Signage

Each year we create signage for our pit area in competitions to display who our sponsors are as a thanky for their support.

Services

In order to run our team we sometimes need access to team collaboration and communication tools. These services usually have monthly or annual fees.
