Technical Theatre

In 1983 I graduated from Ryerson Theatre School, specializing in Technical Theater. After that I headed off to the University of Western Ontario to start an undergraduate degree in vocal music. Luckily I ended up teaching at a school where I could put both programs to use.

Over the years I've had the opportunity to stage numerous shows, with about half of them being original productions written by the students and myself. Below are a number of our set designs. Not all because, yes, I am older than digital photography!

Create, Design, Build and Operate

One of the things that the students really enjoy is learning all aspects of the theatre, both on and also backstage. The hands-on experience not only teaches them new skills, but it brings them all together. .
