Mental Health Navigation Line: 540-985-6999 | Available to Roanoke City residents Monday-Friday, 1 pm - 7 pm | Carilion Clinic's Community Health and Outreach team can assist with issues related to mental health, substance use, social services, and financial assistance.

CommonHelp is an application portal for Virginia residents who qualify to apply for assistance with childcare, energy (heating, fuel, or cooling), food, healthcare, assisted living or adult foster care, or family financial help. 

Need Help Paying Bills is a website that gives resources to find financial assistance with bills, free items, housing, food, and emergency or long term help. There are local agencies near you, listed by state or program type, as well as national organizations, including charities or government social services. Everything from rent or utility bill assistance to free food pantries, mortgage payment help, free health or dental clinics and much more is listed.

Total Action for Progress: 302 2nd Street SW, Roanoke, 24011| 540-283‑4800 | TAP's Eviction Prevention Program helps households in the City of Roanoke that had a loss of income due to COVID-19.   Call before visiting to receive a list of items that they will need to bring when applying for assistance. To receive assistance, you must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income.  Assistance is available for payments past due as of April 1, 2021, and onward.

It provides services that are tailored to meet the needs of those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by utilizing a comprehensive referral system in collaboration with community services providers.

St. Andrew's Catholic Church Crisis Aid Assistance: 631 North Jefferson St, Roanoke |Aid is available only if the individual has already applied and was unable to be helped by both RAM House and Commonwealth Catholic Charities.  Requests must be sent through a referring agency,

Salem/Roanoke County Food Pantry: 829 Indiana Street | 540-389-6938 |Clients who live in Roanoke County, Salem and Vinton who face either termination of electric, water, heating service or eviction from their homes may apply for assistance. Once per year we can help by sending a check directly to the vendor on behalf of our clients so they can keep vital services or remain in their home.
