Lead Safe Roanoke: 215 Church Avenue SW, Room 208 N, Roanoke, 24011 | 540-853-5682 | LSRinfo@roanokeva.gov | The City of Roanoke's Lead Safe Roanoke is a HUD-funded program designed to reduce lead poisoning in children by stabilizing lead-based paint hazards found in rental and single-family homes built in Roanoke City prior to 1978. Eligible applicants receive comprehensive services to identify and stabilize deteriorating lead-based paint hazards in their home and/or rental units.

Mary's Haven -  540 721-2408 | maryshaven@protonmail.com | The mission of Mary’s Haven is to provide, as guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ, comprehensive residential care in a loving and supportive environment for pregnant women who are in a homeless or other unexpected situation and who have committed to carry their babies to term.         

Oakland Baptist Church - 3623 Round Hill Avenue, Roanoke, 24012 | 540-366-5861 | office@oaklandbaptistchurch.net | 2 packs of diapers and a pack of wipes are given away free to each family on the first Tuesday of each month, 5:15-6:15 pm. The event is held in the gym.

Salem/Roanoke County Food Pantry: 829 Indiana Street | 540-389-6938 | In addition to regular food items, families with children under 3 may receive baby food, formula, diapers, and wipes once per month. Families in Vinton, Salem, and Roanoke County are eligible.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace: Provides free beds for kids who need them.  Request a bed here.

WIC - benefits for pregnant women and mothers with children up to age 5. Immunizations, car seat safety, baby care, FAMIS, and nutritious foods, nutrition information, breastfeeding support, healthcare referrals, and community program information.  Applicants must make an appointment. Franklin, Henry, and Patrick Counties and Martinsville; Roanoke City; Roanoke County, Vinton, Salem, Craig County, Covington, Clifton Forge, Alleghany County, Botetourt County.
