Child Health Investment Partnership (CHIP):  1201 Third Street SW, Roanoke, 24016 | 540-857-6993 | The Family Strengthening program increases family self-sufficiency, improves parenting skills and prepares children to enter kindergarten ready to learn. Enrolled families are encouraged to establish and work toward goals such as guiding their children to build literacy and reading skills and to meet appropriate developmental milestones. Family Case Managers provide home safety and safe sleep assessments and refer families to community resources including housing, vocational & educational training, financial and more.  CHIP of Roanoke Valley also provides essential transportation to maintain scheduled appointments through use of transport vans.

Healthy Families will help you track your child’s development, find positive ways to handle discipline, create fun activities that help you bond with your baby while helping her grow and learn. Services are free and voluntary.

Roanoke Area Care Connection for Children from Carilion Clinic

Safe Families for Children (locally in partnership with Patrick Henry Family Services and 127 Place)| 434-376-2006 | Safe Families for Children provides struggling families with an alternative to foster care where their children will be safe and loved until they get back on their feet. Volunteer Host Families are recruited from a large network of faith communities to care for children on a temporary basis. Parents receive support in a number of ways, in order to help reunite their families as soon as possible.
