Mary Luz Marques 


Mary Marques is the Department Head, Social Sciences and Technology, 

Northeast Regional Library, Free Library of Philadelphia (FLP). 


She served as President of REFORMA Northeast (RNE) from 2015 to 2016 and currently chairs the RNE Leadership Institute. Mary holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Clarion University and a Master’s Degree in Bilingual /Bicultural Studies from La Salle University, both in the United States. 


She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Science and Journalism from Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University in Peru.


As a visionary leader, Mary is dedicated to contributing her knowledge and experience to projects that preserve the language, tradition, and culture of Latinos in the United States. She aims to build bridges that create safe spaces and foster constructive dialogue for multiculturalism.
