This week, you will create a physical, visual representation of what you learned so you can share it with your school community.
Materials:
- Chromebooks
- Poster paper
- Coloring supplies
- Leftover recycling relay items
Agenda:
- Take 5-10 minutes to plan your project:
- What will your message be? Example messages:
- Recycling makes a difference!
- Litter pollutes our waterways
- Keep our school litter free - recycle!
- Pack a zero waste lunch
- Conserve resources
- Think about your audience. In other words, who will be seeing your project - classmates? Teachers? Friends?
- What are your skills and interests? For example, if you are an artist, consider a poster. If you are a talented writer, try a story or poem. If you like to build things, a sculpture might be fun.
- What will your project look like? Do a preliminary sketch if necessary.
- What materials will you need, and how will you use those materials? You may have brought some materials from home. Your educator will also provide some materials.
- Some project ideas:
- A poster to hang up in your classroom or on the walls of your school
- Signage for your recycling carts
- A collage from the recycling photos you took throughout the program
- A sculpture out of recyclables materials
- Your own recycling song - here's an example: Environmental Songs for Kids
- Need more inspiration? Check out the image carousel below.
- Remember, there are no limits to your creativity! Your project should reflect an environmental issue that you are passionate about and should be conveyed in a way that you enjoy.
- Start constructing your project! If you need more supplies or are having an issue with your Chromebook, let your educator know.
Optional activity for at home: You may choose to gather more supplies or take more photos at home to bring next week - just be sure to leave behind the work you've completed so far. You will have time to work on your project more next week.
