We are a vocational and Technical high school having 5 departments such as Biomedical, Information Technologies, Mechanics, Textile and Chemistry. Our school is located in the center of Kayseri which is very close to Cappadocia Region (60 km). We have 1350 pupils and 130 staff at our school. We are proud of having the Quality Management Certificate (K-Q TSE ISO EN 9000). Our school gender is mixed.the city we live , Kayseri, has a conservative view.In our school female students are not as comfortable as male students.As according to general public point of view females should be behind of males.There is full of male domination at school.During the project preparation period we have interviewed with out female students and get lots of complaints about sex discrimination at school. For instance: male students do not bring materials to class, they demand with bullying from female students.They do not take notes in classes but they ask for notebooks from female students.They think they can make them whatever they want. The
biggest problem to be mentioned is that a male and female student can not be social friends up to the public idea.people start making gossip loudly and think that they are lovers and they are in a private relationship.
The role of women in contemporary Turkey is defined by an ongoing gender equality struggle, contributing elements of which include predicate conditions for EU membership candidacy, prevalent political tides that favour restrictive patriarchal models, and woman's rights activism.Through the help of this project, We want to emphasize that men and women can live, work, study together in social life.Both male and female students should not hesitate to work together and share their daily life. This project will give our students the opportunity to explore how the project affects people individualities and groups with regards to freedom of opinion and how our world view is shaped. The focus on social sciences will provide knowledge about European social structures and living conditions of people based on individual, group and societal level in several European regions.
As project personnel, we have enough competences and experiences with foreign languages and taking responsibility in international projects. Akif Bahcebasi - IT teacher for 13 years. He constantly tries to involve students in new international projects in order to improve not only their English, but also their communication and ICT skills which they sometimes lack. Ayse Aksoy is an English teacher for twelve years, taking part in Eu projects and ready to take all kinds responsibilities related to project.She studied English Language and Literature Department and also had pedagogical formation education.In case these persons leave their post in the future, there are teachers of English willing take part in these projects. They are ready take over their role to accomplished the project activities.
