John Allsop was born Sep 20, 1823 in St Mary's Parish, England. He immigrated to the United States in 1854, as was Mary Ellen Wood. They were married that same year. The family first settled in Bountiful, Utah where some of the children were born. They then moved to Richmond where the rest of the family was born. While in Richmond, John married Johanna Marie Eskelsen in 1867. After the death of John in 1876, most of his family moved to Grace, Idaho.
