Johanna Marie Eskelson was born Jan 29, 1849 in Narre Kongerslev, Denmark to Niels Christian and Mette Marie Larsen Eskelson. Johanna is a Pioneer of Richmond.
Neils and Mette Eskelson were baptized members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1852 when Johanna was only two years old. The family began their travels to Utah when Johanna was 15 years old. They joined the Peter Nebeker ox train and arrived at Salt Lake City, Utah on Sep 29, 1866. The family then moved to Richmond sometime in the same year.
A year after arriving in Richmond, Johanna married John Allsop on March 16, 1867. They together had four children. Johanna worked as a housemaid, midwife, and nurse in Richmond. After the death of John Allsop on Oct 25, 1876, she married Samuel Ferry Adams on Nov 28, 1878. They had 11 children together.
Sometime between 1885 and 1889, Johanna and Samuel moved to Riverside, Idaho were she lived the rest of her life. She died June 19, 1936 in Riverside and was buried in the Thomas Riverside Cemetery.
