About

Bryce's History Project: Richmond Encyclopedia, originally just titled Richmond's Encyclopedia was organized on August 5, 2021, to record the history of Richmond and Cove, Utah. This is an independent website, not owned or operated by the city of Richmond. I record the history of different aspects of Richmond, such as People (Pioneers, Government Officers, Patriots, etc.) Historical Events, Artifacts, and Documents. I publish the history of Richmond monthly through this website. I also publish current events of Richmond through our other sources, Richmond, Utah News on Blogger, and our Facebook page @RichmondsEncyclo.

Purpose

The purpose of the Bryce's History Project: Richmond Encyclopedia website is to accurately record and describe historical events, people, architecture, and other developments in our beautiful city and surrounding area of Richmond and Cove, Utah, as stated by the Genealogical Ethics Codes.

The Creator

My name is Bryce Holt. I have been a resident of Richmond for my whole life, and am a descendant of the Funk, Merrill, and Pond families that established this small town. I am the 8th generation to live in this beautiful city.

I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in my teenage years by missionaries. A few weeks after my baptism, my missionaries introduced to me the website Familysearch.org. I was sucked into the stories and adventures of my ancestors and wanted to learn as much as possible. In this process, I found a love for my small hometown.

As I studied history, I found it boring and difficult trying to find documents and information scattered about the internet, and history books that held different information but supported the same ideas. I also often heard stories and fables that weren't completely true about my ancestors and hometown. To end this, I have made this website to help all who want to learn about their citiesor familieshistories. For more info, please visit the FAQ page.

I hope you enjoy this website as much as I did writing it.
