William Hendricks Lewis Jr. was born Sep 16, 1857 in Merriman, Utah to William Hendricks Sr. and Martha Narcissa Petty Lewis. William is a Founder of Richmond.
When William was three, the Lewis family moved to the "Old Fort" that would later become Richmond. William spent most of his early life working on the railroad and freighted from Corinne to all different parts of Montana.
William married Elizabeth Dennis on Feb 22, 1880 in Richmond. They had four children before Elizabeth's death on Nov 3, 1889. William re-married to Sarah Jennette Carson on March 19, 1890 in the Logan, Utah Temple. They then moved to Richmond and lived off the rest of their days in the city.
Many years were spent in canyons logging for work, and a farmer at other times.
After the resignation of William Smith Hendricks in July of 1901, William H. Lewis Jr. was appointed to be his replacement.
William Hendricks Jr. died on July 25, 1955 in Richmond. He was buried in the Richmond City Cemetery.
