EU BORDER CRISIS
Position papers are strongly recommended for this committee and are mandatory for award consideration.
Director
Gary is a Grade 12 IB student studying at Richmond Secondary School (generic name I know), Gary is elated to serve as the Director for SOCHUM at the first iteration of RHS MUN! First joining MUN on a whim, he has come to appreciate the intricacies of debate and diplomacy as well as the interesting perspectives one could find when looking at an issue through the lens of a country. Outside of MUN, Gary can be found dying from IB, obliterated by history homework, procrastinating until the due date, wasting his time reading, watching “a” virtual shark, and annoying his younger brother. Gary hopes that this MUN experience allows the debaters to make new friends, experience nuanced discussions, and aid their public speaking and debate skills!
Chair
Currently, a grade 10 student attending Steveston London Secondary School, Tiffany is beyond delighted to be serving as chair for Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee at the first iteration of RHSMUN. Ever since attending her first conference during the fall, Tiffany was entranced by all the fruitful debates and creative problem-solving during the heated conferences of MUN. Tiffany appreciates how MUN allows her to get exposure and deepen their knowledge of global affairs and important issues. Not only that, but MUN has allowed Tiffany to enhance various skills such as problem-solving and public speaking while hoping the same for other delegates. During her free time, you can find Tiffany eating noodles while watching anime or gluing her eyes on food videos. Tiffany hopes to create a welcoming environment for all delegates attending RHSMUN this year and is ecstatic to meet them!
Assistant Director
Gwendolyn Yang is a grade 11 student at Richmond Secondary. Her passion for international affairs started moons ago! The countless debates on social and environmental issues were quite an experience back then. Ever since the first Model United Nations she has been involved in, international relations has become one of her biggest interests. When Gwendolyn is not working on her assignments, she can be found re-watching classic American TV shows. Gwendolyn is honoured to be serving as the assistant director of SOCHUM at Richmond Secondary School Model United Nations. She is extremely excited to witness the valuable insights that are soon to be presented by all delegates!
