Our previous workshops were organized to discuss the trends, challenges and future directions of Robotic Grasping and Manipulation, focusing on benchmarks, datasets, and competitions.
Benchmarking via Competitions in Robotic Grasping and Manipulation, 2nd edition, Workshop, IROS 2025
Benchmarking via Competitions in Robotic Grasping and Manipulation, Workshop, IROS 2024
Experimental Robotic Grasping and Manipulation -- Benchmarks, Datasets, and Competitions, IROS 2018
The workshop at IROS 2025 involved 5 speakers from academia and industry, 2 presentations from the winning teams at the 10th RGMC at ICRA 2025, and received contributions from the community with 7 extended abstracts (unpublished works) and 5 abstracts (published works) accepted as posters to be presented at the event. The workshop also received support from the TC on Performance Evaluation & Benchmarking of Robotic and Automation Systems, awarding the best extended abstract with $250.
The workshop at IROS 2024 involved 5 speakers from academia and industry, 5 presentations from the winning teams at the 9th RGMC at ICRA 2024, and received contributions from the community with 10 extended abstracts accepted and presented as posters. The best extended abstract also had the opportunity to present as a talk. The workshop had a broad participation from the community.
RGMC has been running for 11 editions at either the IEEE/RAS International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) or the IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS), since 2016. Across the editions, we engaged the community with various tasks for manufacturing, service robots, and logistics. These tasks include assembling and disassembling boards, hand-in-hand grasping, picking and placing various objects, pouring liquids into a cup, bin picking, rearranging and setting formal tables, folding and unfolding cloths, and receiving objects handed over by a person.
Teams were invited and encouraged to prepare demo videos illustrating their solutions and showcasing results in their laboratories:
