Personal Perspective

I am 57 years old and I am married to Lucy Ruszel. Like both my parents, Lucy is a public school teaher. And she is amazing. Lucy works in the San Leandro Public School System. Like me, she feels compelled to help people explore the power within the cultural and class diversity all around us and use our privilege to teach ways of breaking down the barriers that separate races, classes, cultures and wall off our connection and creativity. Lucy has 21 years in this school system and is unable to transfer without losing her pension. After five years of being in relationship across great distances, I chose to resign my position as Sr. Developmental Minister at the UU Church of Santa Monica Ca so that we could be together.
