Western Mass Towns for a Responsible Grid will be protesting at Eversource's Hadley office to voice our opposition to plans to effectively clearcut 29 miles of forest from Northfield to Ludlow, as Eversource's first step in extensive clearcutting of almost 2,000 acres throughout Western Mass.
Please join us to make yourselves heard and send a clear message to Eversource.
When: Saturday, November 14, 2026, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
Rain Date: Sunday, November 15, 2026, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
Where: Across the street from Eversource’s work center, 55 Russell Street (Route 9), Hadley, MA 01035.
Our Message: No Eversource Clearcut for Profit
Signs: Print out this sign (fill in your town) OR make your own, preferably with that same message on at least one side.
Parking - While Eversource is on the south side of Route 9, we will meet across the street where there is a sidewalk. There are parking lots on the south side of the road that may be accessible, as well as parking on Bay Road. Please find a legal and safe location to park; and use caution when walking to and from the protest.
Directions - After parking, we suggest that folks cross Rte 9 at the crosswalk at the lights by the Pride Station, then walk on the sidewalk until they're across from Eversource. Crossing closer to Eversource would be dangerous as there is no other crosswalk.
Messaging/Signs- We ask folks to bring signs only focused on Eversource's proposed plans in order to focus our message.
Non-violence; be respectful. Please remember that this is a non-violent protest and do not engage with others who may want to challenge or disrupt us.
