We have the responsibility of providing an environment which is conducive to comfortable, safe living, and effective learning. – Student Handbook
We want to promote a safe and inclusive environment. One of our main concerns is keeping the residence halls safe and comfortable for all living within them.
We need to encourage ethical behavior by holding students accountable.
Conduct serves an educational purpose for student growth within the process. It serves as a learning experience that fosters personal development and changed behaviors.
Maxient is the system IRs are processed through.
Student are assigned cases to Conduct Officers (Prostaff and campus partners such as Student Disability Services, Dyson Counselors, Student Success Coaches, and Student Affairs)
All students involved will meet with their Conduct Officer (individually) and discuss the incident from the student’s perspective and then discuss the policy violation.
Based on the information from the meeting(s), once each student in the incident has been met with, Conduct Officers come together to discuss appropriate sanctioning.
Students are then sent a follow up email with the result of their sanctioning and are given the opportunity to appeal.
