Thanks for stopping by and welcome to the sidelines.
I’m Hatty, a teacher from Greater Manchester who spends most of my free time on the sidelines of women’s sport. I started WOSO Sidelines Reports because I love being at matches, watching the game grow and giving players the coverage they deserve.
I’ve been reporting on women’s football for several years, writing match reports and covering fixtures across different levels of the pyramid. I care about telling the story of the game properly, capturing the details, and making sure the players who work so hard get the recognition they’re often overlooked for.
Alongside football, I also work in media roles for rugby and basketball. I’ve been a camera operator for Manchester Basketball and supported broadcast teams at major rugby events, including the Rugby World Cup. Being involved in different sports has shaped how I write and how I see the game, and it’s given me a real appreciation for the communities that make women’s sport what it is.
Teaching is my day job, but sport is where I feel most at home. Reporting from the sidelines lets me combine the things I care about: visibility, fairness and celebrating the athletes who deserve to be seen.
