This was my first time using the trace tool in Illustrator. Its a remarkably powerful tool looking at the results. The only touch-ups I made to the image trace on the right was some lighting in the eyes.
1. After prepping the portrait in Photoshop, I imported it into Illustrator and selected the image trace option under object tab.
2. I preceded to navigate to the image trace properties tab and switched the default preset option to the “High Fidelity” option.
3. Opened the Image Trace panel for more options to make further adjustments, such as allowing more detail and colors.
4. Adding some minor touch-ups of my own around the eyes. Tried applying brush effects and textures, but couldn’t really find anything that added rather than distorted.
