The Kick Challenge consists of 5 rounds of 100 kicks each, for a total of 500 kicks. This challenge will run during the second half of the Kata Challenge (rounds 7-11), starting at noon.
Each round Kick Challenge participants will do the same kick 100 times, in 5 sets of 20 kicks. An instructor will give the count (for the kicks and the katas) and there will be a group leader doing the kicks with the participants. The last 20 kicks of the round will have a surprise Bonus Challenge to incorporate.
After the Bonus Challenge, participants will have a break while the Kata Challenge round finishes, and then will get to watch the advanced Showcase Performance before the next round begins.
New option for kids: The Kick Challenge is a new addition in 2025, designed for younger and newer students, including the 4 and 5 year-old kids in the Pre-Karate class. This challenge is ideal for kids below yellow belt, who are not yet ready for the demands of the Kata Challenge. Yellow stripe kids who can do Taikyoku on their own may join the Kata Challenge with instructor permission.
The Kick Challenge Ring opens in the second half of the event. Kids may watch the Kata Challenge for the first half of the event.
Check-in for the Kick Challenge is during the halftime break at noon.
