We raised $537 at our Fabric Frenzy during Studio on Tuesday, October 22, which was well attended! Our Donations Committee members did an excellent job sorting all the fabrics by color and laying them out on the kitchen counters in the Westview Community Room. It was all very civil, no one got trampled and we didn’t see any fabrics flying through the air…. Hopefully all who participated found something useful. If you missed this one, please stay tuned! We had enough fabrics left over for another frenzy, maybe at a regular Guild meeting next spring.

We moved Studio from Hosanna Church to Landis Homes
We did it!
We moved Studio from Hosanna Church to Landis Homes Tuesday! As with any move, there were a few unanticipated curve balls thrown at us….
First, we walked into a breathtaking haze of fumes in Fellowship Hall where we meet for Studio. The walls had just been painted, and they were still wet. Unbeknownst to us, the Lititz Christian Nursery School was in the process of moving into Hosanna a month early. They did leave us Fellowship Hall, but all the other parts of the church were a forest of nursery school supplies, toys, people, and boxes. They were kind enough to clear a path for us to wheel our racks out through the foyer, and we had to track down the driver to move a large Penske truck parked in our loading zone, but eventually everything was loaded into a combination of SUV’s, vans, and Kaeleb’s truck.
A convoy of 8 vehicles wended its way through Lititz and across the cornfields to Landis Homes, where we converged on the circle in front of the Landis Homes Westview Community Center, our new home.
We were promptly informed by some appalled Landis Homes staff members that we had to leave the circle immediately, because buses and cars were coming in the next few minutes to pick up Adult Day Care Services attendees at that entrance. A certain amount of milling around and confusion ensued with racks rolling around in parking lots, but eventually all the loaded racks ended up in the lobby waiting to be elevatored up to their new home 2 floors above. We crammed them cheek by jowl into their new closet, and the whole move was finished by about 4:00. The fastest unpack/reload/move-in on record!
Our deepest thanks to all those members who helped schlep and pack and schlep again, it would have taken us the whole rest of the day without all your help!

Studio will now be in the Westview Community Room at Landis Homes, starting on August 27. Come check out our new digs that day!
Bonnie McClun’s wheelchair van. See the sky behind her? There was this underlying current of anxiety that the heavens would open as we were moving in….
Bonnie transported our library, the two smaller racks, and lots of other stuff.
Linda Hikes’ van, full of bins and another rack.
Jennifer Funck’s SUV, fully loaded.

After the move, Bonnie and Jeanne undertook the task of reorganizing the Studio's "stash". Here are the "after" photos that follow at left. All nicely arranged in the Landis storage room.
