February, 2026: The Love of Quilting knows no boundaries, by Bonnie McClun
Several years ago, one of our members met 2 lovely ladies, twins Nettie and Toni from near Bedford PA, at one of the AQS shows here. They have developed a friendship with our Guild, and every year they enjoy making comfort quilts for us. Some of you may remember meeting them last year at one of our Studios. This year, unable to bring their quilts in person, they were planning to ship them to us. We said, Ouch! Shipping 23 comfort quilts from Bedford PA to Lancaster would cost a pretty penny!
My dear husband enjoys an adventure, so off we went to Bedford last week to pick up their quilts. These quilts are fabulous!! as always. But we were sad about not having time to share with Nettie and Toni.
Here is a small sampling from this year’s batch – 23 in all! They are all throw size or larger!

A huge THANK YOU to Nettie and Toni for their generosity and gorgeous quilts! We look forward to seeing them again next year.
July 2025 Update: We had Christmas in July at Studio this week – our dear friends the quilting twins Toni Terek and Nettie Berkey brought us 28 fantastic finished comfort quilts.
Twenty-eight, mind you. FINISHED!! And all of them done between January and now.
Toni and Nettie share a love of quilting – and a longarm. If they lived here they would definitely be Guild members, but since they live in central PA, they are our long-distance honorary members. Their quilts are always so colorful and beautifully made, and we’re so grateful they’ve chosen to donate them through the Guild!
