The Guild offers guest speakers at many of our meetings. These programs are designed to educate, encourage, and inspire our members in the many and varied areas and types of quilting techniques. We invite both well-known lecturers from around the country and accomplished quilters from among our members to provide programs for us.
We also love to party and do so at least several times a year. Once a year we have a potluck dinner where we distribute our comfort quilts to the charities we support. During the summer we enjoy an ice cream social. And our Christmas parties offer games and fun activities as well as delicious Christmas themed sweets to share.
March 2026 Meeting: Annual Pot Luck and Comfort Quilt Distribution
Our annual potluck dinner was again a huge success – potlucks are always the BEST! Here’s what the table of plenty looked like(photo on left) , just before everyone descended upon it.
And look at the piles of quilts (photo at right) we distributed to our organizations – 205 quilts in all, with 70 still at Jennifer Funck’s house. Most of those were children’s quilts which the organizations could not use, but they too will go to good homes – the faculty and staff of McRae Elementary School have told us they would love to have them. So this year’s crop was 275 quilts total.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to all of you who contributed your time, expertise, and fabrics to make all the quilts
New Year's Day Workshop: January 1, 2026
The String Workshop on January 1, 2026 was way too much fun! We had a full house, with Red Rose Quilters all over High Auditorium making blocks of fabric strings from Jane Hoar’s estate. choosing their strings –

Third Photo: Polly Good and Karen Fraley continuing work on the string quilt they started in the 1/1/24 String workshop.
I’m sure Jane Hoar would be very pleased to see all her thousands of strings transformed into beautiful comfort quilts (and quite a few table runners). We all look forward to seeing the results in the year to come!
New member Marguerite Catanese started this string quilt during our “String Along” workshop on New Year’s Day, and finished it in time to give it to her granddaughter, who looks very pleased to have it.
We offer workshops, which are "hands-on" opportunities to learn, under the supervision of a well- qualified instructor, specific technique(s) related to quilt construction in its many forms, They will be either be outside instructors with expertise in their specific field or technique or accomplished quilters from among our members. These are fee-based sessions and generally include demonstrations as well as written step by step instructions. You will be provided with a list of supplies and fabrics well beforehand.
Colin Gockley, who recently joined the Guild after retiring, immediately took advantage of the mentoring program to better his quilting skills. He is pictured next to his beautiful quilt-in-progress.
These are small group sessions that occur every other month. They are a special time to bring a project you are struggling with and get help from several of our experienced members. You work one-on-one with the member. You must sign up due to space limitations. They are free of charge and are very popular. They meet in the Community Room located in the Hybrid 1 Building at 1500 Wisteria Drive, Lititz on the Landis Homes campus.
