Section 4 - Training Certification

________________________________________________________________

Certificate of Training

________________

The SAI will present a Certificate of Training to each cadet upon completion of three or more years of JROTC training.

The certification serves as a memorandum honoring the completion of JROTC training, along with serving as a recommendation for cadets seeking enrollment in Army ROTC within a university. U.S. Armed Forces recruiters accept these certifications to grant higher rank upon enlistment.

Training Records

________________

The instructors are responsible for keeping training records during a cadets time JROTC. This is done by the following methods:

    • The SAI and AIs will ensure cadet training is recorded in the JROTC Unit Management System (JUMS)
    • The SAI and AIs will ensure cadets are recognized for their promotions and achievements in JUMS
    • At the end of each school year, one cadet from each LET level is recommended for the Superior Cadet Medal to the SAI. Cadets who receive the Superior Cadet Medal will receive a signed certificate for their records.
    • The SAI and AIs will record cadets who volunteer community service in support of JROTC operations, recording each cadet's service hours in a tracking log. Cadets who reach or exceed 12 hours of community service will be awarded the Community Service ribbon.
