Year Up (Age 18-29 only) Year Up is a free job training programs that focuses on careers in Tech, Business, and Finance. Our program design trains students in industry specific skills, while also providing students with internships at today’s best companies. Learn more at yearup.org https://bit.ly/yu-jcha
Eligibility Guidelines:
• 18-29 Years Old
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Eligible to work in the US
• Available five days a week (M-F) for the entire duration of the program
• Within commuting distance of Year Up
• Cannot have earned a Bachelor’s degree

Business Fundamentals (College Option) - 1 semester learning, 1 semester internship

The GEG Clean Energy Employment and Training Grant is geared to engage eligible individuals from New Jersey's overburdened communities who possess a keen interest in pursuing careers in the clean energy sector. This initiative encompasses a comprehensive array of essential employment and training services, including workforce readiness, financial literacy instruction, wrap-around supportive services, job coaching, and job placement support, all meticulously designed to facilitate their seamless entry into the dynamic clean energy workforce.
Furthermore, the grant brings forth the prospect of delving deeper into more specialized employment and training services, including occupation-specific skills training leading to industry-recognized certifications. It also opens doors to needs-based On-the-Job Training (OJT) placements with employers, including our esteemed grant partner PSEG, with the overarching goal of assisting participants in transitioning into sustainable, unsubsidized employment.

Food Service Academy: FSTA
- The FSTA program is a 14-week program instructed by our professional chefs that will teach 4 weeks of Culinary, 4 weeks of Baking, 1 week of Bulk Production, 2 weeks of Hybrid (these classes go over Life skills- goal setting, time management, etc, resume building, interview skills, financial literacy, and nutrition education), and 1 week of externship. Our students are instructed and have the opportunity to become certified in the Managerial level of ServSafe.
Warehouse Job Training: WLTA
- The WLTA program is an 8-week program and is a great hands-on experience for those who would like to enter or continue their career in Warehouse operations. The students will be certified in Forklift, Palette Jack and the Lean Six Sigma Yellow-belt. Our WLTA students are also included in the life-skills, resume building, interview skills, financial literacy, and nutrition education classes.
Both programs are full time Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm at our location in Hillside (31 Evans Terminal Rd, Hillside, NJ)

We are thrilled to announce the new Financial Services track to our program, which will offer a unique opportunity to connect data analytics and forecasting skills with the financial services sector. For our initial cohort, we are bringing on 32 passionate individuals ready to learn more about this sector and leverage their entrepreneurial mindset.
For the first time since 2020, we will offer a hybrid cohort option for those interested in a mix of in-person and remote learning. Our location will be in downtown Manhattan and will allow our COOPers to build faster connections with their colleagues and coaches and get real-time support for their lessons. Hybrid cohorts will meet 25% in-person (1x a week) and 75% virtually.
