Jimmie Dean 10/13/2022 I usually buy closeouts, discounts etc. Set them on the shelf. Build a cabinet. And start sitting drivers in the box. Till it sounds right. Many times. A driver, that is not even supposed to work. Sounds better, than the one called for. And the more expensive driver, does not always sound better. I like an assortment to try different drivers in cabinets. To fit the speaker to the cabinet. Thickness/type of wood etc. effects resonance. That's why I started doing it by ear.
