Little trick about mismatching tubes and ideal loads specified on datasheets.
Sukuma and Yamamoto and Hiraga teached me that ..................
For example for certain operating points fa 300B WE a load impedance of 3K and more is specified .................but the amplifiers blooms unlike with an impedance of 2.5K..............
In the Yamaoto AO8(s) .............the load impedance for the 45 triode is 5K ................and it works fine...............installing a 2A3 RCA will asthonish you even if the specified impedance is 2.5 K...............the higher impedance brings the power below that with the 2.5 K opt...........but it sings as a nightingale at midnight .............
TIP...............for nos 45 ST tubes , most are good.......some are even more magic ...........
The 45 made by Tungsol............( even with other brands labeled on the ST bulb/ one should rec ognize the constyruction to identify those )
Or the Globe 45 ( 245/345) from Cunningham and RCA..............;
Set flea power .............one should dream about their musical power equaling more powerfull tubes...................what ever you win you loose...........so it's about the choice of the speaker to honor their beautiful voices........and the soul to give them a home to live in ...........
