Identity theft is when someone steals and misuses your information (ie. name, social insurance number, bank information, etc.), open a bank account under your name; apply for credit cards under your name, or shop with your account

How to Keep your Identity Safe

Some ways to keep your identity safe are to; shred documents that have identifying information on it; don't post or share your SIN, address, phone number, or birthdate on social media (social media is not secure!); choose a PIN that is difficult to guess (avoid using your birthdate, SIN, address, telephone number, etc.)

The Mobility for Good Programs helps youth transitioning out of care stay connected by providing free cell phone packages. You can bring your own phone, receive a $75 discount on a new phone, or access a refurbished phone for no cost. The package includes: $0/month for 2 years, 3GB of data, and unlimited Canada-wide texting. To access this program you must provide a letter of eligibility completed on your behalf by a ministry/agency representative
