Declaration

Readings on History is a non-profit digital archive for Under-Graduate students. This website is a student initiative evolving under the guidance of Dr. Rohan Srivastava. It is a part of our ambitious society ‘Trails & Footprints: Society of Historians & Archivists’. The prime objective of the project is to create an online portal for undergraduate students studying History with easy access to essential readings. Moreover, the digital portal can be accessed by history enthusiasts as well. Till now we have been able to accumulate academic resources for two subjects which have been uploaded on the website. These have been segregated according to the syllabus of the University of Delhi.

Our next objective is to cater to the needs of the visually impaired students who are an integral part of the university. The uploading of the audio files is under process. For this, we will soon be starting the work of recording audios for the study materials which will be uploaded alongside the documents for easier access.

Another aim of our team is to assist the Hindi medium students. We are first-hand witnesses of their struggles with finding even the most basic textbooks. Therefore, we have ensured that we include translated works or books written in Hindi by known historians.

As volunteers, we are very passionate about our endeavours of making History, the subject, more available to those really interested. As this website is a non-profit initiative, there are no charges for use of its contents so that the resources are available for the underprivileged as well.

We gratefully acknowledge all the authors and publication houses, whose work has helped us create this library and encourage you to buy the publications referenced in this website for a complete understanding of the subject/topic discussed.

This website is a work in progress and we welcome feedback on how to improve content as well as user experience.
