Reading

Learning to decode written text is hard work for some kids. Addressing their challenges with direct instruction using a multisensory approach allows them to make sense of the English language and learn to enjoy the meaning behind the words.

Thinking

Supplying students with strategies and tools will help them to become organized, improve productivity, and better manage their time. Strengthening these and other executive function skills develops the self-directed learner into one who knows how to study and improve their grades.

Understanding

Connecting what students already know to what they are learning involves unlocking the keys to comprehension. Work in improving fluency, strengthening vocabulary, and broadening background knowledge supports the cognitive skills needed for deepening comprehension and understanding of text.
